We will be running a series of articles over the next few months in which we will provide some useful tips and keep you in touch with developments at the practice.
Vaccinations
Hingham Surgery strongly supports vaccination in line with NHS guidance. Vaccines are a safe and effective way to protect you and your family from serious illnesses.
We understand there can be a lot of information available, including some that may be misleading—particularly on social media. We encourage you to seek advice from trusted sources.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss vaccinations, please speak to one of our nurses or GPs, who will be happy to help.
Contact Us – Using online forms on our website
You can contact the practice online using FootFall, our secure online consultation system available on our website. By completing a short form, you can provide details about your symptoms or request. This will be reviewed by a member of the team and directed to the most appropriate clinician, helping us respond as quickly as possible.
Examples of what FootFall can be used for include:
- Cystitis (UTI) symptoms (women under 65)
- Asthma reviews
- Blood pressure reviews
- HRT and contraceptive pill reviews
- Sick note (fit note) requests
Multiple Issues in One Appointment
It is generally best to focus each appointment on a single issue. However, we understand this is not always possible.
If you have more than one concern, please let the GP know at the very start of the consultation. This helps ensure your time is used as effectively as possible.
Always prioritise and discuss the main issue first. If you have two issues, expect to spend around 4 -5 minutes on each.
If you have multiple or complex concerns, we recommend booking a double appointment to allow sufficient time for proper assessment and care.
Working together for better appointments
Appointment length : GP appointments are typically 10 minutes long. If you feel you may need a longer appointment, please let our reception team know when booking so we can try and accommodate your needs.
Helping us to stay on time: We aim to run our clinics as smoothly and punctually as possible. So we can care for all our patients fairly and on time, we would appreciate your help in keeping to your appointment schedule.
Booking your appointment: When booking, please tell us the reason for your appointment. This allows the GP to prepare in advance and helps ensure you receive the most appropriate care. In some cases, our reception team may direct you to another suitable service. For example, if you have a back problem, you may be offered a faster appointment with a physiotherapist.
